Friends’ Book Sale Room

Garland County Library

The Book Sale Room will be closed from April 24th - May 2nd in preparation for the Annual Sale.

As a fundraising activity, volunteers from the Friends of the Library stock and maintain the library’s used book sale room. It is open every day during library hours. The sale room is stocked with books donated by the community or withdrawn from the library. The collection includes both fiction and non-fiction, and prices generally range from 25 cents to 3 dollars. Prices are written just inside the cover of each book or occasionally marked with a sticker on the front.

Shoppers will also find many popular magazines for 10 cents each and a small selection of secondhand DVDs, VHS tapes and CDs for one or two dollars. All items must be paid for at the library checkout desk.

All of the books in the sale room are arranged according to subject to aid patrons in finding selections of their choice. Marked sections cover a side range of topics, including mysteries, romances, popular novels, science fiction, westerns, children’s books, biographies, history, religion, cookbooks, crafts, sports, health and other subjects.

Donations of used books are needed all year long for the sale room and also for a larger Annual Spring Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library. If you are a member you may attend the ‘Members Preview’ book sale. Donors may leave their books with library staff members during library hours, or may call the library at 501-623-4161 to arrange for volunteers to pick up books that cannot be delivered. A tax receipt is available for all donated materials.
